Homemade Italian Calzone with Toppings
Ingredients
- 300ml milk
- 1 tbsp baker's yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp oil
- 600g flour
- tomato sauce
- salami
- onion
- red pepper
- cheese
- mozzarella
Preparation
Combine the milk, baker's yeast, sugar, salt, egg, oil, and flour to form a dough, then knead until smooth and let it rise until doubled in size.
Divide the dough into 6 equal parts.
Roll out each part into a circle.
Spread tomato sauce over one half of each circle.
Add salami, onion, red pepper, grated cheese, and fresh mozzarella on top.
Fold the dough over the fillings and seal the edges to form a calzone.
Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the tops with egg yolk.
Bake in a preheated oven at 250°C (480°F) for 30 minutes.
