Meat-Stuffed Grape Leaf Rolls

Ingredients

  • grape leaves
  • 500 grams ground fatty meat
  • 2 onions
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups bulgur for pilaf
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • red pepper flakes, black pepper, cumin, dried basil, red pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic

Preparation

  1. First, since we are using fresh leaves, put them in salted hot water to wash and soften them for rolling.

  2. To prepare the filling, grate the onions and garlic.

  3. Add the meat, tomato paste, washed rice and bulgur, salt and spices, olive oil, and knead to make the filling.

  4. Then, roll the sarma and arrange them in a pot.

  5. In a tablespoon of butter, sauté the tomato paste, add salt and water, and bring to a boil.

  6. Pour the boiling sauce over the sarma to cover them, cover the pot with a plate, and cook on low heat until the water is absorbed. Enjoy.
