Easy Crispy Baklava with Rolling Pin
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 egg
- 1 tea glass vegetable oil
- 1 tea glass warm water
- 1 tea glass yogurt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 7.5 tea glasses flour
Syrup
- 4 cups sugar
- 4 cups water
- one slice lemon
Filling
- 400 grams walnuts
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Topping
- 250 grams clarified butter
- 1/2 tea glass vegetable oil
Preparation
Mix all dough ingredients and knead until a smooth dough forms.
Rest the dough for at least 30 minutes to make it easier to roll.
Roll out the dough thinly using a rolling pin into multiple layers.
Layer the rolled dough sheets with the walnut and sugar mixture.
Prepare the syrup by combining sugar, water, and lemon slice in a pot.
Bring the syrup to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
Preheat the oven to 180°F.
Brush the top of the baklava with the clarified butter and vegetable oil mixture.
Bake the baklava for 55-60 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Remove from the oven and wait 7-8 minutes before pouring the cold syrup evenly over the baklava.
Tips
Add flour to the dough carefully to achieve the desired consistency and avoid making it too stiff.
Baking time may vary depending on the oven, so check for a golden brown color and crisp texture.
