Turkish Baklava with Nut Filling
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tea glass milk
- 1 tea glass vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- 1 cup water
- 5.5-6 cups flour
For rolling
- Starch
Filling
- Walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios
Topping
- 250 grams butter
- 1/2 tea glass vegetable oil
Syrup
- 5 cups sugar
- 5.5 cups water
- 1 slice lemon
Preparation
Prepare the dough by mixing the ingredients until smooth and let it rest.
Roll out the dough into thin sheets using starch to prevent sticking.
Layer the dough sheets with the nut filling in between.
Brush the layers with the butter and oil mixture.
Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown.
Combine sugar, water, and lemon in a pot for the syrup.
Bring the syrup to a boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes after it starts boiling, then remove from heat.
Pour the hot syrup over the baked baklava and allow it to absorb.
