Turkish Revani Semolina Cake
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup semolina
- 1 packet baking powder
- Zest of 1 large orange
Syrup
- 3 cups sugar
- 3.5 cups water
Orange juice
- 1 cup orange juice
Preparation
First, boil the syrup for 5 minutes on medium heat and let it cool.
Beat eggs and sugar with a mixer thoroughly.
Add yogurt and vegetable oil and mix.
Add flour, semolina, baking powder, and orange zest and mix.
Pour the mixture into a greased large square baking dish and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 30-35 minutes.
After removing from the oven, wait 5 minutes, poke holes with a toothpick, and pour orange juice over it evenly.
After 10 minutes, slice the cake and pour the lukewarm syrup over it.
Allow it to rest for 2-3 hours before serving.
