Turkish Orange Semolina Cake
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- Juice of 1 orange
- 1 cup semolina
- 2 cups flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet vanilla
Syrup
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 4 cups water
Preparation
In a bowl, beat 4 eggs and 1 cup powdered sugar until well combined.
Add 1 cup milk, 1 cup vegetable oil, and juice of 1 orange; mix lightly.
Add 1 cup semolina, 2 cups flour, 1 packet baking powder, and 1 packet vanilla; mix gently.
Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C until golden and cooked through.
Allow the cake to cool completely.
For the syrup, combine 3 cups powdered sugar and 4 cups water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Pour the hot syrup over the cold cake.
