Turkish Orange Semolina Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 packet vanilla

Syrup

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 cups water

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, beat 4 eggs and 1 cup powdered sugar until well combined.

  2. Add 1 cup milk, 1 cup vegetable oil, and juice of 1 orange; mix lightly.

  3. Add 1 cup semolina, 2 cups flour, 1 packet baking powder, and 1 packet vanilla; mix gently.

  4. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.

  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C until golden and cooked through.

  6. Allow the cake to cool completely.

  7. For the syrup, combine 3 cups powdered sugar and 4 cups water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

  8. Pour the hot syrup over the cold cake.
