Traditional Turkish Kadayıf Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 kg fresh kadayıf
- 250 g melted butter
- 2 cups walnuts
For pouring on top
- 350 g butter
For syrup
- 4 cups water
- 3.5 cups sugar
- half a lemon
Preparation
First, prepare the syrup by adding 4 cups water and 3.5 cups sugar to a pot, squeeze in half a lemon, and boil it.
Melt 250 grams butter and pour it over 1 kg fresh kadayıf, then mix with hands.
Take small pieces of the kadayıf, flatten them out evenly.
Add about a tablespoon of walnuts inside each piece and roll the kadayıf by hand, then place on a tray.
After rolling is complete, melt 350 grams butter and spread it over the rolls with a spoon to help browning in the oven.
Bake at 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat for about 25 minutes.
Once the kadayıf has cooled slightly, pour the syrup over it.
Notes
Ensure the syrup has also cooled slightly before pouring it over the kadayıf.
