Quick 10-Minute Turkish Phyllo Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 package phyllo dough (for one tray)
- Walnuts or pistachios
Syrup
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 4 cups water
- Quarter lemon
Topping
- 250 grams butter or margarine
Preparation
Prepare the syrup by boiling 3 cups powdered sugar, 4 cups water, and a quarter lemon for 20 minutes, then set it aside to cool.
Remove the phyllo dough from the package, roll it into a log, and cut it into three equal parts.
For each part, place nuts between the layers to form a single layer and crinkle it with your hands.
Fold both ends inward for each piece.
Brush the entire dessert with melted butter or margarine.
Preheat the oven to 220°C and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Immediately after removing from the oven, pour the cold syrup over the hot dessert evenly.
Let it rest for 2 hours before serving.
Notes
One package of phyllo dough can make two trays of this dessert.
