Sweet Potato Masala Fries with Spicy Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients

Vegan raita

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut or any other plant based yogurt
  • 1/4 cup tahini or vegan sour cream (optional)
  • 1/2 cup finely diced or grated cucumber
  • 2 tablespoon finely chopped red onion
  • 3 teaspoons lemon or lime juice, more to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 2 tablespoons chopped mint or use 1 tsp dry mint
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro optional
  • 1 tsp teaspoon salt, more to taste
  • 1 tsp teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tsp chili flakes

Masala sweet potato fries

  • 3 medium Sweet potatoes (I used Japanese sweet potatoes) Sliced
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 tsp corn starch (don’t skip on this. Corn starch will make your fries extra crispy)
  • 1/4 tsp dry mint powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp chat masala powder or more if your prefer
  • Few lemon wedges

Preparation

Vegan raita

  1. Combine all these ingredients in a bowl and put it in the fridge until you are ready to serve the fries

Masala sweet potato fries

  1. Slice the potatoes in wedges, coat them with olive oil and corn starch

  2. Turn the air fryer to 390 F

  3. Air fry the potatoes for 15 min until they are crispy

  4. Mix the dry mint powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, and chat masala powder together

  5. Sprinkle fries with the masala mix, squeeze some lemon juice and enjoy with Raita

Tips

  1. Do not skip the corn starch as it will make your fries extra crispy
