Apple Slices Cake
Ingredients
Apple
- 2 large apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Cake batter
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
Garnish
- Ground walnuts or almonds
- Sugar
- Jam
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius and prepare a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper on the bottom and sides.
For the apples, do not peel them, cut into halves, remove the seeds, slice thinly, sprinkle with lemon juice, and set aside without leaving them for a long time.
For the cake, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt onto a piece of paper and set aside.
In a bowl, place the eggs, sugar, and vanilla, and using a whisk, beat until the mixture becomes light in color and fluffy.
Add the lemon zest, melted butter, and oil, and continue beating until well combined.
Gradually add the flour mixture while continuing to beat.
Add the lemon juice and beat; the mixture will become thick in consistency.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Arrange the apple slices neatly in a circular pattern on top of the cake, leaving the center empty.
Sprinkle some nuts in the center of the cake to cover it completely, and do not sprinkle on the apples.
Sprinkle some sugar on the apples.
Bake the cake for 30 to 35 minutes until it becomes golden brown.
Remove the cake from the oven, immediately brush the surface with jam, let it cool, and then serve.
