Chocolate Party Cake with Condensed Milk Filling

Ingredients

Cake batter

  • 4 eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (do not use chocolate drink powder)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Filling

  • 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 200ml whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons milk powder
  • 1 box ripe strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Ganache

  • 300g dark chocolate (at least 50% cocoa)
  • 300g heavy cream

Preparation

Cake batter

  1. Break the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites; in a bowl, beat the egg whites to soft peaks and set aside

  2. Place the yolks and sugar in another bowl and mix well until it becomes a sandy texture; add the oil until it forms a creamy mixture

  3. Mix the flour with the cocoa powder in another container and sift to keep it fluffy; alternate adding the milk and flour to the egg mixture and stir gently with a whisk; once everything is homogeneous, add the beaten egg whites and stir gently; finally, add the baking powder

  4. Preheat the oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F)

  5. Pour the batter into a 20x10 cm (8x4 inch) loaf pan or a similarly sized pan

  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, depending on the oven

Filling

  1. In a saucepan, place the sweetened condensed milk and milk powder and mix well until the milk powder is completely dissolved

  2. Add the heavy cream and mix; finally, add the milk and butter; bring to medium heat and stir until thickened

  3. The correct consistency is reached when the mixture falls from the spoon in blocks and forms little mounds on top

Ganache

  1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals until completely melted, stirring well after each interval to prevent burning

  2. Stir until slightly cooled to prevent curdling; then add the heavy cream and mix well

  3. Refrigerate to set; decorate as desired
