Healthy Vegan Sesame Cauliflower Bowl

Ingredients

Batter

  • 1 small cauliflower
  • 1/3 cup flour (can be gluten-free)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper
  • pinch of garlic powder
  • pinch of onion powder

Sauce

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 piece ginger
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup vegetable stock
  • 1 teaspoon cornflour
  • 1 tablespoon water

Preparation

  1. Mix the batter ingredients and coat the cauliflower florets.

  2. Place the coated cauliflower on a baking tray, spray with a little olive oil, and bake at 180°C for 40 minutes or until golden.

  3. For the sauce, combine all sauce ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil.

  4. Add the cornflour mixture (1 teaspoon cornflour mixed with 1 tablespoon water) to the sauce, reduce heat to low, and stir until it reaches the desired thickness.

  5. Coat the baked cauliflower with the prepared sauce.
