Meat Pie with Cheese
Ingredients
- 2.25 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 tablespoons corn oil
- 1 cup warm milk
Filling
- 2 tablespoons corn oil
- 250 grams ground meat
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 green chili pepper, chopped
- 1/2 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 medium red bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
- 2 teaspoons mixed spices
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed hot pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Topping
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 teaspoons nigella seeds
Preparation
In a food processor bowl, place the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar with the plastic disc attached, run for a few seconds to mix the ingredients, then while running, add the oil and warm milk until the dough separates from the sides of the bowl and forms a cohesive and smooth dough
Place the dough in an oiled dish, brush the surface of the dough with oil, cover with plastic wrap, and put the dish in a warm place until the dough doubles in size
For the filling, in a medium pot, place the oil, heat over medium heat, add the ground meat and stir with a wooden spoon until its water evaporates, then add the onion, garlic, green chili pepper, green and red bell pepper, carrot, tomato, parsley, mixed spices, crushed hot pepper, and salt, stir until the ingredients are well mixed, then place the filling in a dish and let it cool completely
For the glazing mixture, in a small cup, place the egg yolk and vinegar, and mix with a small brush
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and prepare a 10-inch round baking dish
Divide the dough into two equal parts
On a floured surface, place one part of the dough and roll it out with a rolling pin into a circle the size of the baking dish
Place the dough in the dish and with your fingertips, spread it to cover the bottom and sides of the dish
Roll out the other part of the dough in the same way
Place the filling on the dough in the dish and spread it to cover the dough
Spread the cheese over the filling
Place the other part of the dough over the filling to cover it completely, and seal the edges well
Brush the surface of the dough with the glazing mixture
Sprinkle nigella seeds and cheese over it
Bake the meat pie for 30 minutes until it turns golden brown
