- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons roasted ground cumin
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup corn oil
- 1 cup warm milk
Glazing mixture
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
Decoration
- Sesame seeds
Preparation
In the mixer bowl, put 3 cups of flour, yeast, salt, sugar, paprika, and cumin. Attach the dough hook and run the mixer on low speed to mix the ingredients.
Add the egg and oil, knead on medium speed until well mixed. Add milk and knead until a smooth dough forms and pulls away from the bowl. Add more flour if the dough is soft.
Place the dough in a deep oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
Prepare a shallow tray and oil it.
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1 cm thickness. Roll it into a log and pinch the ends to seal.
Cut the log into 16 pieces.
Place the ends in the center of the tray and arrange the other pieces in a circle. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
Set the oven rack to the middle and preheat the oven to 180°C.
For the glazing mixture, in a small bowl, whisk together 1 egg and 2 tablespoons milk using a fork.
Brush the dough with the glazing mixture, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and bake for 40 minutes.
