Surprise-Filled Cookies with Nuts
Ingredients
- 150 grams margarine or butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 packet vanilla
- 2.5 cups flour
Filling
- 4 tablespoons spreadable chocolate
- 1 cup chopped hazelnuts
Topping
- 1 egg white
- A bit less than 1 cup chopped hazelnuts
Preparation
For the dough, first mix soft margarine, egg, sugar, and vanilla.
Gradually add flour and knead into a dough that does not stick to hands, wrap with plastic wrap, and refrigerate.
For the filling, mix chocolate and hazelnuts and refrigerate until firm.
Break off walnut-sized pieces of dough, flatten in palm, add a teaspoon of filling, seal, roll, dip in egg white then hazelnuts, and place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake in a preheated 180-degree oven until golden brown on bottom and top.
Serve the cookies after they have completely cooled.
Tips
When hot, the inside is runny and the outside soft, so wait patiently for them to cool completely before serving.
