Cocoa-Topped Mushroom Shaped Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 packet margarine or butter (250g)
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 400g starch
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet vanilla
- 2 tea cups flour (add controlled)
Topping
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
Preparation
Put softened margarine in a mixing bowl.
Add eggs and powdered sugar, and mix briefly.
Add all the starch, vanilla, and baking powder, and continue kneading.
After well mixed, gradually add flour until a soft dough like earlobe consistency is achieved.
Optionally line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Shape the dough into walnut-sized balls and place them on the sheet.
Dip the mouth of a soda bottle in cocoa and press it into the center of each ball.
Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes or a maximum of 17 minutes until cracked, ensuring tops and bottoms remain white.
Notes
The cookies are ready in about half an hour and are very delicious.
Baking time may vary by oven, so watch for cracks to indicate doneness.
