Turkish Moon-Shaped Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 250g butter or margarine
  • 2 packets vanilla
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 tea glass powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 450g flour
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients except flour by hand, then gradually add flour and mix to form a dough; do not over-knead once it comes together.

  2. Take large pieces of dough and roll out to 5mm thickness on a work surface.

  3. Cut out moon shapes using a tea glass.

  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 150-170°C for about 25 minutes until lightly browned, then remove from oven.

  5. Let cool, then remove from baking sheet, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
