Grilled Chicken Shish Tawook Skewers
Ingredients
- 4 large chicken fillets
Marinade
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon chili
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Vegetables
- 12 small tomatoes
- 1 medium yellow bell pepper, cubed
- 1 medium green bell pepper, cubed
- 1 medium red bell pepper, cubed
For serving
- chopped lettuce or parsley
Preparation
Cut the chicken into small cubes.
Prepare a thick plastic bag and add the oil, vinegar, balsamic vinegar, tomato paste, yogurt, paprika, salt, pepper, turmeric, coriander, cumin, chili, and ginger.
Add the chicken pieces to the bag, close it well, and shake to coat the chicken completely.
Place the bag in a dish and refrigerate overnight, stirring occasionally.
Heat a wide skillet over medium heat.
Alternate the chicken, colorful peppers, and tomatoes on wooden skewers as desired.
Place the skewers on the hot skillet and turn on all sides until the chicken is cooked and the vegetables are browned.
Place chopped lettuce or parsley in a serving dish, arrange the shish tawook on it, and serve immediately.
