Crispy Indonesian Corn Fritters

Ingredients

  • 4 grated ears of corn
  • 1 sliced small onion
  • 1 thinly sliced green onion
  • 2 thinly sliced celery stalks
  • Flour
  • 1 chicken egg
  • 1 teaspoon mushroom stock
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Water for batter

Ground spices

  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

  1. Take part of the grated corn and mash it, then place it in a small bowl.

  2. Add the ground spices, sliced onion, green onion, celery, flour, water, mushroom stock, and egg; mix well until evenly combined. If the mixture is not salty enough, add a little more salt.

  3. Heat oil in a pan. When hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, fry until crispy, then remove and drain.
