Indonesian Cheesy Squid Fritters School Snack

Ingredients

  • 200 ml water
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 50 g all-purpose flour
  • 150 g tapioca flour
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • cooking oil, for frying
  • chili sambal, for serving

Preparation

  1. Boil water, minced garlic, salt, chicken bouillon powder, and ground black pepper in a pot until boiling. Add all-purpose flour and stir until thickened. Remove from heat

  2. Add tapioca flour and stir until combined. Then add egg, grated cheddar cheese, and finely chopped green onion, stirring until a smooth dough forms

  3. Shape the dough into small, pointed oval pieces. Boil in boiling water until cooked through and floating. Remove, drain, and let cool

  4. Fry the fritters in hot oil until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels

  5. Serve with chili sambal
