Easy Vegan Sticky Sesame Cauliflower
Ingredients
For baked cauliflower
- Cauliflower: 1 small head cut in bite sized pieces
- Sesame oil: 1/2 Tbsp
- Smoked salt: 2 Tsp
- Garlic powder: 1 tsp
For sauce
- Sesame oil: 1/2 Tbsp
- Xylitol: 1 Tbsp
- Soya sauce: 2 1/2 Tbsp
- Rice wine vinegar: 1 tsp
- Tomato paste: 1 1/2 Tbsp
- Tahini: 1/2 Tbsp
- Sugar free chili sauce or Sriracha: 2 tsp
- Arrowroot: 1 tsp
Other
- Spring onions: 3 finely chopped
- Ginger: 1 Tbsp grated
- Sesame oil: 1/2 Tbsp
- Black sesame seeds: to garnish
Preparation
Preheat oven to 200°C. Coat cauliflower with sesame oil, salt and garlic powder and roast in the oven for 15 minutes.
Start your sauce at 10 minutes into the oven. Mix all the ingredients listed under sauce in a bowl.
Heat sesame oil in a wok and add ginger and spring onions. Fry for a few seconds and add the sauce into the oil. Keep stirring as it will quickly begin to thicken.
Take the florets out of the oven and drop them into the sauce. Mix to coat well.
Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions. Enjoy with rice.
