Homemade Granola with Nuts and Seeds

Ingredients

  • 150g jumbo oats
  • 50ml maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp black treacle (optional)
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 50g chopped almonds
  • 50g chopped walnuts
  • 50g pumpkin seeds
  • 30g sunflower seeds
  • 15g golden flaxseed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 50g toasted coconut flakes

Preparation

  1. Heat oven to 160 degrees centigrade (fan).

  2. In a large pan on the hob over low heat, melt coconut oil, stir in maple syrup and black treacle, then gradually add the remaining ingredients except for the coconut chips, stirring between each one.

  3. Cover a baking tray with baking paper and evenly spread the mix over it.

  4. Bake in the oven on the middle shelf for 20 to 25 minutes until golden.

  5. Leave to cool completely before stirring in the coconut and any other dried fruit you fancy.
