Savory Baked Tofu Beef Crumbles
Ingredients
- 1 lb block of super firm pre pressed tofu
- nutritional yeast 2 T
- sweet paprika 1 T
- no beef soup base (better than bullion) 2 tsp or no beef bullion cubes 2 (mashed)
- EVOO 1 T
- Dijon mustard 1 tsp
- garlic powder 1 tsp
- smoked paprika 1/2 tsp
- black pepper
Preparation
Dry tofu block with a kitchen towel after removing from packaging.
Shred tofu into a medium bowl with the larger holes of a grater.
Combine the rest of the ingredients in a small bowl except the water and oil.
Next add water to combine, then whisk in oil. The marinade will be thick.
Add marinade carefully mixing and folding gently into the tofu. After a couple of minutes of mixing, the tofu will be evenly coated.
Spread on a large baking sheet lined with parchment and bake at 400 F for 30 minutes, flipping halfway, until crisp.
After baking, leave on baking sheet to cool for approximately 15 minutes; the crumbles will continue to crisp.
Serving suggestions
Use the crumbles in quesadillas, bowls, salads, or pasta.
