Turkish Meatball and Potato Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 kg ground meat
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 or 4 slices stale bread
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 6-7 medium potatoes

Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4-5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1.5 cups hot water

Preparation

  1. Add all the ingredients to the ground meat and knead for 2-3 minutes.

  2. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest in the refrigerator for about an hour.

  3. Slice the potatoes using a slicer.

  4. Shape the meatballs and arrange them on a baking tray.

  5. Pour the mixed sauce over them.

  6. Bake in a 200-degree oven until golden brown.
