- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp water
- 1.5 tbsp agave or maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
Preparation
Drain and press the tofu to remove excess water.
Cut the tofu into thin pieces.
Add oil to a large pan and place the tofu pieces without overlapping; cook in batches if necessary.
Cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, whisk together the sauce ingredients in a bowl.
When the tofu is cooked, add the sauce and toss to coat.
Serve with steamed broccoli, edamame, cooked noodles, and garnishes.
Tips
This dish is flavorful, versatile, and simple; pair the tofu with your choice of vegetables or noodles.
The sauce permeates the tofu and may caramelize slightly during cooking.
