Bbq Tofu with Gochujang Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2/3 package extra firm organic tofu
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1.5 cups steamed broccoli florets cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup edamame
  • 1 cup cooked noodles

Garnishes

  • cilantro
  • sauteed mushrooms
  • sesame seeds
  • scallions
  • red chili flakes

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp gochujang sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp water
  • 1.5 tbsp agave or maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce

Preparation

  1. Drain and press the tofu to remove excess water.

  2. Cut the tofu into thin pieces.

  3. Add oil to a large pan and place the tofu pieces without overlapping; cook in batches if necessary.

  4. Cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3 minutes.

  5. Meanwhile, whisk together the sauce ingredients in a bowl.

  6. When the tofu is cooked, add the sauce and toss to coat.

  7. Serve with steamed broccoli, edamame, cooked noodles, and garnishes.
