Easy Vegan Bbq Tofu with Gochujang Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2/3 package extra firm organic tofu, drained and pressed
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1.5 cups steamed broccoli florets cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup edamame
  • 1 cup cooked noodles
  • Cilantro for garnish
  • Sauteed mushrooms for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Scallions for garnish
  • Red chili flakes for garnish

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons gochujang sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1.5 tablespoons agave or maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce

Preparation

  1. Cut tofu into thin pieces.

  2. Add oil to a large pan and place tofu so the pieces are not overlapping; cook in batches if necessary.

  3. Cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes depending on thickness.

  4. Flip and cook another 3 minutes.

  5. Meanwhile, whisk together sauce in a bowl.

  6. When tofu is cooked, add sauce and toss to coat.

  7. Serve with vegetables and noodles.

  1. Pair the tofu with your choice of vegetables and/or noodles for a great meal.

  2. Gochujang sauce can be found online or in most grocery stores.
