Easy Bbq Tofu with Vegetables and Noodles
Ingredients
- 2/3 package extra firm tofu
- 1 tsp oil
- 1.5 cups steamed broccoli florets
- 1 cup edamame
- 1 cup cooked noodles
Sauce
- 2 tbsp gochujang sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp water
- 1.5 tbsp agave or maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
Garnishes
- cilantro
- sauteed mushrooms
- sesame seeds
- scallions
- red chili flakes
Preparation
Drain and press the tofu to remove excess water.
Cut the tofu into thin pieces.
Add oil to a large pan and place tofu pieces without overlapping, cooking in batches if necessary.
Cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes depending on thickness.
Flip the tofu and cook for another 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, whisk together the sauce ingredients in a bowl.
Add the sauce to the cooked tofu, toss to coat.
Serve with vegetables and noodles.
Tips
The sauce permeates the tofu and caramelizes slightly for enhanced flavor.
Gochujang sauce is tangy and can be found online or in most grocery stores.
