Caramelized Bbq Tofu with Veggies and Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2/3 package extra firm organic tofu, drained and pressed well to remove water
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1.5 cups steamed broccoli florets cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup edamame
  • 1 cup cooked noodles
  • Cilantro for garnish
  • Sauteed mushrooms for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Scallions for garnish
  • Red chili flakes for garnish

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp gochujang sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp water
  • 1.5 tbsp agave or maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce

Preparation

  1. Cut the tofu into thin pieces.

  2. Add oil to a large pan and place the tofu pieces without overlapping, cooking in batches if necessary.

  3. Cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile, whisk together the sauce in a bowl.

  5. Add the sauce to the cooked tofu and toss to coat.

  6. Serve with the vegetables, noodles, and garnishes.
