Sage-Infused Grapefruit Sparkling Cocktail

Ingredients

Simple syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 bunches of fresh sage leaves

Cocktail

  • Pink grapefruit juice
  • Sage simple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Sparkling wine
  • Fresh sage leaves

Preparation

  1. Simmer sugar and water on medium heat until sugar dissolved.

  2. Stir in the sage and cook for 30 seconds more.

  3. Remove from the heat and set it aside to cool.

  4. Once the simple syrup has cooled, remove the sage.

  5. Transfer the syrup to a container and store it in your refrigerator until ready to use.

  6. Shake 4 tablespoons grapefruit juice and 2 tablespoons syrup with ice.

  7. Strain into a glass with fresh ice.

  8. Top with champagne or sparkling wine.

  9. Garnish with fresh sage leaves.
