Simple Moist Walnut Cake with Apricot Glaze
Ingredients
- 200 g softened butter
- 180 g sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 4 large eggs
- 150 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 150 g ground walnuts
- 3 tbsp milk
- butter for greasing the pan
Decoration
- 3-4 tbsp heated apricot jam (optional)
- walnuts (optional)
Preparation
Grease a 26 cm springform pan
Preheat the oven to 180°C conventional (160°C fan)
Beat softened butter with sugar and salt until fluffy
Add the eggs one at a time
Mix flour, baking powder, and ground walnuts
Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the batter
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top
Optionally sprinkle with additional walnuts
Bake for about 30 minutes
Let the cake cool on a wire rack
Once cooled, optionally brush with 3-4 tablespoons of heated apricot jam
Optionally sprinkle with walnuts
