Spaghetti with Prawns and Garlic Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper
  • 2 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 450 grams spaghetti or tagliatelle
  • 350 grams prawns
  • 125 ml double cream
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons parsley

Preparation

  1. Heat oil and butter over medium heat and add garlic and red pepper until garlic is golden.

  2. Add tomato puree and cook for 10 minutes.

  3. Boil spaghetti according to package instructions, adding salt and olive oil, then drain.

  4. Add prawns to the sauce, increase heat for 2 minutes while stirring continuously until prawns change color, then reduce heat.

  5. Pour in cream and cook for 1 minute while stirring until sauce thickens slightly, then add salt and black pepper.

  6. Add spaghetti to a serving bowl, pour sauce over it, sprinkle parsley, stir well, and serve immediately.

Tips

  1. Alternatively, add spaghetti to the pan with the sauce, sprinkle parsley, stir to mix well, and serve.
