Stir-Fried Bok Choy with Oyster Sauce
Ingredients
- Bok choy
- Chopped garlic
- Oyster sauce
- Chicken bouillon cube
- Sugar
- MSG (optional)
- Cornstarch
- Water
- Fried garlic for garnish
Preparation
Wash the bok choy thoroughly and cut each stalk in half.
Blanch the bok choy and immediately transfer to ice water, then drain and set aside.
Stir-fry the chopped garlic until wilted.
Add oyster sauce, a little chicken bouillon cube, sugar, and optional MSG, and cook until boiling.
Add a cornstarch slurry made by mixing cornstarch with a little water to thicken the sauce, and cook until boiling.
Pour the sauce over the prepared bok choy.
Sprinkle with fried garlic.
Tips
Shocking the bok choy in ice water helps maintain its freshness and vibrant color.
MSG can be omitted if preferred.
