Chicken with Green Onions
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized cubed chicken fillets
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon corn oil
- 3 crushed garlic cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
- 1/4 cup water or broth
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 5 tablespoons soy sauce
- 6 green onions cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/8 teaspoon red chili pepper
Preparation
In a deep bowl, place the chicken and cornstarch, then stir to coat well.
In a wide skillet, add the oil and heat over high heat. Add the chicken and stir until golden brown.
Add the garlic and stir until golden.
Add the vinegar, water, sugar, and soy sauce. Stir the chicken for one minute, then cover the skillet and cook for 7 minutes.
Add the green onions and cook with the chicken for 3 minutes until slightly softened.
Transfer to a deep serving dish, pour over the sauce, sprinkle with red chili pepper, and serve with white rice.
