Broccoli with Clam Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 heads broccoli
  • 250 grams clams
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 lime leaves
  • 1 thumb-sized galangal, smashed
  • Sugar, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Soy sauce, to taste
  • Stock powder, to taste
  • Ground pepper, to taste
  • 150 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons water

Preparation

  1. Boil water and cook broccoli for 2 minutes or to desired doneness, then drain.

  2. Sauté minced garlic, smashed galangal, and lime leaves until fragrant.

  3. Add clams and the remaining ingredients, adjust seasoning to taste. Add the cornstarch mixture, stir until boiling and thickened, then turn off the heat.

  4. Arrange the broccoli on a plate, pour the clam mixture over it, and serve.
