Spicy Indonesian Fish with Red Sauce

Ingredients

  • 7-8 pieces salem fish
  • Lime juice

Spices to grind

  • 9 shallots
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 5 large red chilies
  • 3 candlenuts
  • Bird's eye chilies (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Shrimp paste (a little)

Preparation

  1. Clean the fish and rub with lime juice, then fry until cooked.

  2. Grind the spices into a paste.

  3. Sauté the ground spices until fragrant.

  4. Add the fried fish to the pan.

  5. Add a little water and cook briefly until the spices are absorbed.

  6. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve.
