Spicy Indonesian Beef Stir-Fry
Ingredients
- 250g beef scraps
- 15 bird's eye chilies, sliced or to taste
- 1/2 tomato, sliced
- 1 piece galangal, smashed
- 5 kaffir lime leaves
- 4 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- Sweet soy sauce
- Salt
- Sugar
Ground spices
- 5 red chilies
- 5 shallots
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 candlenuts
Preparation
Wash the beef scraps clean and cut into pieces.
Boil until tender with bay leaves and a little salt.
Sauté the ground spices, kaffir lime leaves, bay leaves, galangal, sliced bird's eye chilies, and tomato until fragrant.
Add the beef scraps, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, salt, and sugar. Add a little water and cook until the spices are absorbed and set.
Adjust the taste and remove from heat.
Tips
Be cautious with the amount of chilies to avoid excessive spiciness.
Serve with warm rice and crackers for the best experience.
