Polish Mushroom Filling for Uszka
Ingredients
- 150 grams dried mushrooms
- 1 large onion
- Butter
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
Soak the dried mushrooms in water overnight.
The next day, boil the mushrooms for about 10 minutes and grind them.
Finely chop the onion.
Fry the chopped onion in butter until translucent.
Add the ground mushrooms to the onion and fry together.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cool the filling and refrigerate it.
Use the filling to make uszka the next day.
Tips
Chilling the filling overnight makes it firmer and easier to handle, reducing the need for additional ingredients.
