Authentic Turkish Beef Kavurma
Ingredients
- 3 kg beef cubes
- 0.5 kg beef fat
- 300 g butter
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1 large onion
Preparation
Heat the beef fat in a hot pot and stir a few times.
Add the onions and butter, and sauté until the onions are lightly browned.
Using a strainer, remove the onions and the fatty meats.
Add the beef cubes and salt, cover the pot, and cook on low heat for 2 hours.
If foam forms on the surface, remove it.
To evaporate excess water, you may cook with the lid off.
The kavurma is ready.
Tips
Optionally, package the kavurma and store it in the freezer for later use.
