Traditional Turkish Bulgur Pilaf

Ingredients

  • 2 cups bulgur
  • 3 cups hot water or chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Put the vegetable oil in a pot.

  2. Add the washed bulgur on top.

  3. Add the water and salt, then cook on low heat until the water is absorbed.

  4. Once the water is absorbed, turn off the heat.

  5. In a small pan, melt the butter until it's hot and browned.

  6. Pour the butter over the pilaf.

  7. Serve hot.
