Potato-Stuffed Turkish Börek
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 5 cups flour
For greasing
- 100g butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
For filling
- 3 boiled potatoes
- salt
- black pepper
- red pepper flakes
- paprika
For topping
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon oil
Preparation
Mix all dough ingredients to form a soft dough that does not stick to hands.
Without waiting, divide the dough into 12 pieces and shape into balls.
Cover the balls and let them rest for 10 minutes.
Roll out the rested dough pieces to 35-40 cm in size and shape with a glass as shown.
Prepare the desired filling and use it.
After preparing all pieces, gently press to widen them.
Cover and let rise for 20 minutes for tray proofing.
Brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
Tips
Ground meat filling is also delicious and can be used as an alternative.
