Traditional Turkish Spinach Börek

Ingredients

Dough

  • 6 cups flour
  • 2 glasses water
  • salt

Greasing

  • 1 tea cup melted butter
  • 1 glass oil

Filling

  • 2 bunches spinach
  • 1 onion
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • 1 tea glass oil

Preparation

  1. Knead the dough and divide into 6 parts.

  2. Rest for 1 hour, then oil it.

  3. Rest for another hour and open it by pulling on an oily surface.

  4. Fill with the stuffing and wrap.

  5. Grease the top.

  6. Bake at 170 degrees Celsius for 25 minutes.

Filling

  1. Fry the onion in oil.

  2. Wash the spinach.

  3. Chop and wash again.

  4. Strain well.

  5. Add spinach and seasonings.

  6. Lightly fry the spinach.
