Steamed Palm Sugar Layer Cake
Ingredients
Bottom layer
- 1 cup palm sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons tapioca flour
- 3 cups water
- A little slaked lime water
Top layer
- 3 cups coconut milk
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons fine salt
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Preparation
Cook the ingredients marked with an asterisk until dissolved and cool.
Mix with the flour until smooth and strain.
Heat the steamer first and grease the pan with a little oil to prevent sticking.
Steam the bottom layer for 20 minutes. If there is water on the surface, gently wipe it with tissue and score with a fork.
Mix all the top layer ingredients, stir, and strain.
Pour the top layer mixture over the bottom layer and steam again for 20 minutes or until cooked.
