Traditional Indonesian Steamed Bread
Ingredients
- 250 g wheat flour
- 130 g tapioca flour
- 50 g olive oil
- 50 g granulated sugar
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1 tsp baking powder
Preparation
Mix all ingredients except oil and knead until well combined
Add oil and knead until smooth
Roll out the dough and shape it into a rectangle
Place in a greased and parchment-lined rectangular pan and let it rise for 30 minutes
Heat the steamer and cover the lid with a cloth to prevent water droplets
Steam the risen bread for 30 minutes, keeping the lid slightly open to avoid wrinkles
After cooling, cut the bread and slice it into two parts without separating, then spread with desired fillings

Commonly paired with sarikaya spread, but can be filled with peanut butter, nutella, or homemade pineapple-mango jam
