Viral Malaysian Roti Ban Bread
Ingredients
- 1 kg flour
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons margarine
- 2 tablespoons milk powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 6 tablespoons sugar
Yeast mixture
- 1 packet yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar (for activation)
Thickener components
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons flour
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients from the first group.
Add the yeast mixture and the thickener components.
Knead until the dough does not stick to hands. If too soft, add a little flour.
Let the dough rest for half an hour until it rises.
Knead the dough again and shape it into balls.
Arrange the balls in a baking tray greased with margarine.
Let the dough rise until it doubles in size.
Bake at 160-170°C for 20 minutes.
When golden brown, remove from oven and brush with margarine on top.
