Soft and Fluffy Sandwich Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 egg whites (yolks reserved for brushing)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 cups flour
Preparation
In a large bowl, mix warm water, warm milk, vegetable oil, instant yeast, and sugar; let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Stir in the egg whites and salt.
Gradually add flour and knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and shape it into one or two sandwich loaves.
Place in greased loaf pans and let rise again until doubled, about 30-45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brush the tops with reserved egg yolks.
Bake for 25-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
