Crispy Layered Turkish Pastry
Ingredients
Dough
- 2 cups warm milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 6 to 6.5 cups flour
For greasing
- 250 grams butter

- 2 egg yolks
- poppy seeds
Preparation
In a large bowl, mix the warm milk, vegetable oil, instant yeast, sugar, and salt until well combined.
Gradually add the flour and knead until a soft, smooth dough forms.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Roll out the dough and incorporate the butter by folding it in layers to create a flaky texture.
Divide the dough into portions, add the filling of string cheese and sausage, and shape into buns.
Place the shaped buns on a baking sheet, cover, and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Brush the tops with egg yolks and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Bake until golden brown and crispy, approximately 20-25 minutes.
