Easy Three-Tray Filled Kete

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 packet dry yeast or half packet fresh yeast
  • 6.5 cups flour

Filling

  • 125 grams butter
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Topping

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 or 2 teaspoons milk

Preparation

  1. Mix all dough ingredients together and knead until smooth and elastic.

  2. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.

  3. Prepare the filling by combining butter, vegetable oil, flour, and salt in a bowl.

  4. Divide the risen dough into portions and roll each out into a thin sheet.

  5. Spread the filling evenly over the dough sheets and roll up or shape into ketes as desired.

  6. Place the shaped ketes on baking trays and let them rest for a short time.

  7. Brush the tops with a mixture of egg yolks and milk.

  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 210°C with top and bottom heat for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
