Soft Turkish Cheese Pastry
Ingredients
- 2 cups warm milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 7 cups flour (add gradually and adjust)
Topping
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon milk
Filling
- white cheese
Preparation
Mix milk, sugar, and yeast together.
Add eggs and oil, and mix well.
Gradually add salt and flour to knead a soft dough that does not stick to hands.
Allow the dough to rise.
Divide the risen dough into 24 equal pieces.
Shape each piece into an oval, add cheese inside, and seal it lengthwise.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush with a mixture of egg yolks and milk, and make four cuts on each.
Let them rest for half an hour.
Bake in a preheated 190°C oven on top and bottom heat until golden brown.
Remove from oven, cover with a damp cloth, and let sit for five minutes.
