Lamb Stew with Potatoes and Pumpkin

Ingredients

  • 1 kg lamb with bone, cut
  • 1 packet thin bread
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 10 small onions
  • 1 tablespoon chopped ginger
  • 3 large tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 6-7 small potatoes
  • 250 grams pumpkin, cubed
  • 1 chili pepper, sliced
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon meat spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander

Preparation

  1. Prepare a large serving dish and set it aside.

  2. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on the meat.

  3. In a large pot, heat the oil over high heat, add the meat, stir until golden brown, then remove the meat from the pot.

  4. To the same pot, add the garlic and onion, stir until golden brown, add the ginger and tomato paste, stir until the vegetables soften.

  5. Add the lemon, salt, black pepper, baharat, cumin, ground coriander, tomatoes, chili pepper, pumpkin, stir until well mixed.

  6. Add the meat back, cook on medium heat for 60 minutes until the meat is cooked, then add the potatoes and pumpkin, let the stew boil until everything is cooked.

  7. Place the thin bread in the serving dish after breaking it into small pieces, spread the broth over it and let it absorb, then add the meat, potatoes, pumpkin, and lemon, serve immediately.
