Moist Orange Cake with Orange Syrup
Ingredients
- 2 oranges
- 150 g butter
- 6 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 250 g sugar
- 250 g flour
- 100 ml milk
Syrup
- 200 ml water
- 150 g sugar
- 100 ml orange juice
Preparation
Wash and slice the oranges into rounds
In a saucepan, bring the syrup ingredients to a boil and cook the orange slices
Drain the cooked orange slices on paper towels and set aside; reserve the syrup
Grease a cake pan with margarine and sprinkle with sugar; arrange the orange slices on the bottom
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius
In a bowl, combine the butter and sugar and beat until well incorporated
Add the milk and then the eggs one by one, beating well after each addition
Finally, add the baking powder and flour; mix until smooth
Pour the batter into the prepared pan
Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, then remove from the oven
Unmold the cake, pour the reserved syrup over it, let cool, and serve decorated to taste
